2017 – A New Year of Possibilities

Most people tend to make massive changes at the beginning of each new year.  It’s no different with me. This year, however, will be the beginning of a new life.  Everything in my life is changes.  Here’s a quick list of a few of things that will be changing and how I am going to evolve over the next year.

  • New Career – On January 19, 2017, I am leaving my 9-to-5 job and embarking on a new full-time entrepreneurial journey.   I am sad to leave my job, because I love it and the people I work with. After a 24 year career, it is time for change, for me and the company.  As they move their headquarters to Plano, Texas, I will be moving my life to a new State where I will pursue life as a creative entrepreneur.  My passions include writing, teaching and research, so my new career will involve all of these, and more. While there is some trepidation in this change, I’m excited beyond measure.  I keep telling myself – Be brave Corrie Ann, be brave.
  • New Home – I have lived in the same residence for just over 16 years. It is the longest I have lived anywhere my entire life.  I am ready for change.  The walls around me are caving in and I’m craving a home in a more natural setting, with trees, streams and wildlife around me. The new home will be somewhere in the wild of New Mexico. Bliss, here I come!
  • New Environment – For all of my adult life I have lived in an urban environment, surrounded by concrete and steel.  There have been short periods where I have had some nature surroundings, but for the most part – city life it’s been.   In New Mexico I will be surrounded by trees, lot’s of trees.  They are my totem and give me life, so this small change will have a huge impact on my health and creativity.
  • New Friends – The other day I was thinking about this area of change. All of my friends in adulthood have come from college or my job, with the exception of my husband.  So, moving to a new place will encourage me to stretch myself a bit and make new friends. I’m sure there will be people who are interested in writing, creative endeavors, holistic health, coffee, tea, cookies, herbology, aromatherapy, or turning trash into treasure.  Or they might be into something entirely different and open my eyes to a whole new world.  I am an introvert but I promise myself to get out there and be social.
  • New Hobbies – I am, through and through, a modern day Renaissance soul. By that I mean, I have a lot of interests and knowledge in a lot of areas.  My new surroundings will allow me to explore, not only these favorite interests, but new ones that have tickled my fancy for a while and yet I have not pursued.  I see myself making body care products, learning to spin wool, raising chickens and owning a horse or two.
  • New Project – In January 2017, I officially launch the Clean Body Project.  This is not only a personal project on cleaning up my life, but a documented journey on how I do it.  In the end I hope to share my new wisdom with others through my writing and teaching.  Life is too short to not live on purpose, and sometimes to do that we need to make space for change.  This project will help me and others do just that. The areas that will be “cleaned up” include relationships, career, spirituality, finances, fitness, and nutrition.   I will also have a portion dedicated to polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), since it has had an impact on my life over the last 10 years.

So you see, 2017 is going to be a big year. I’m working hard on getting everything ready, so come January 20th, I can get this party started.   I hope you stick around to see what transpires.
